Exactly a week ago, our preparations for the Dreamhack Winter 2009 in Sweden were in full swing. Also on the trip we took 16 games stations, major tournament schedules, and the burning desire to bring the world closer to all the people of Aion. Read on and find out what happened on our trip.
It is almost impossible to convey the mood of a fair or exhibition someone who was not present. DreamHack is the Love Parade of the games industry and a mecca for fans of e-sports. The winter edition of the LAN party attracted over 15,000 visitors in its spell - right in the middle of our state of Aion.
Our game stations were a popular destination for visitors and DreamHack angetestet after they had the game a little, which was normally for most of them very convincing, yet we gave them several Aion goodies installation DVD’s, demo code, desired Aion key chains and more.
Our Free-For-All tournaments were a great success. In each round, the stand was filled with interested fans. This “FFA brawls” followed by a relatively simple scheme. Sixteen characters of Level 50 (prepared by us) have been teleported into the arena in Sanctum and the last player still standing, won the tournament. The tournaments were not only highly entertaining but also very enlightening for us as it provides us a better understanding of balancing PvP and what is needed for the ever-present clash in the Abyss, gave. The players have not been able to choose their class, the distribution was random. As the winner, several different classes went out - a good indicator that one’s own ability is one of the biggest factors to victory.
To our great 3v3 PvP tournament signed up eight teams. The first round was played at our booth. Semi-finals and finals were held the other hand, in a special arena with seating for spectators. The members of our Swedish Aion Fansite “AoS” played like true champions and secured in a thrilling final prices of a bunch of partners unserern SteelSeries and Razer (including a mouse for each naga). The members of the team were “Imba”, “Madnici” and “Klingsan. Super played, guys!
On Saturday evening started for us, the dismantling of the stand. With us we took a lot of great memories. Not often you stand on a stage and staring at a 4000 faces, while just waiting for the technician to fix the sound problem, only to then watch the reactions of people when the exciting new trailer “The visions of Aion Kinah” played on a giant screen is. A great experience were the people of grapes, which are formed respectively for the final two of our players, “FFA brawls.
The Aion team had a great time at DreamHack 2009 and look forward to more such experiences with the community of Aion.
